About

The Algerian National Theater is an ancient cultural institution affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, bearing the name of Brigadier General Muhiddin Bachtarzi.

The first institution in Algeria after independence was not economic, media or sports, but was the opera house, on January 8, 1963, according to Decree No. 12/63, with the establishment of the Algerian National Theater Company, as well as an institute of dramatic arts. The Opera House turned into the Algerian National Theater Foundation, and was supervised by the artist Mustafa Kateb, in addition to the crew with which he worked in the technical band of the National Liberation Front, which is a very large sign of political authority and a message that carried various indications.

The Algerian National Theater Squad, from the moment of the foundation, re -produced and presented the revolutionary national offers that were previously presented before independence, such as: the people of the Kasbah, Hassan Tero, Al -Ahed, and the immortals, and the most important thing that draws attention at that stage is the nature of the audience who was strongly present in the space in which the dream coexists Indeed, between 1963 and 1965, the day after watching a theatrical performance in the Atlas Hall in the beginning of Al -Fatih November 1962, the Argentine rebel “Shi Guevara” said: “I was told that there is no theater in Algeria, but I saw the revolutionary theater with my eyes in the land of Algeria.”
