The Algiers Opera is part of a huge cultural center that also includes a major performance hall with a capacity of about 12,000 seats, located at the northern entrance to the city of Ouled Fayet (the western suburb of the capital), along the national road linking the state of Tipaza to the capital. This cultural center is considered the first opera house in the Maghreb and the fifth in the Arab world. The opera was designed in Moorish architecture with a modern and simple touch, with its spacious marble foyer and circular staircases. The main hall for performances can accommodate 1,400 people, with its red seats, ballet practice hall, piano halls, offices, in addition to two parking lots and many other facilities. It also includes two very spacious floors that will allow guests to have a good view of the performances on stage and from all angles. The latter is very modern as it moves up and down over several metres, which will greatly facilitate the work of the artists.
