About

The National General Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Algiers (MAMA) is a museum of modern and contemporary art, opened in 2007, located in the heart of Algiers. Its mission is to introduce, promote and preserve contemporary Algerian art while demonstrating international contemporary art through permanent and temporary exhibitions of Algerian and international artworks.

Located in Algiers at the heart of the commercial street Avenue Avenue Larbi Ben M'hidi, this Neo-Moorish building was originally a multi-arcade shop and was built by architect Henri Petit in 1914.
