The Mauritanian Royal Mausoleum is a Numidian royal mausoleum located about 70 km west of Algiers, Algeria. It is classified as a national landmark and world heritage by UNESCO. The Mauritanian Royal Mausoleum, or as the locals call it, the Tomb of the Roumiehs, is an archaeological area located in Sidi Rashed, Tipaza Province.
The tomb is located on the top of A hill on the western coast of Algiers, 261 meters above sea level. It is visible to the viewer from the Mitidja Plain (south of the Algerian capital) and from the heights of the Bouzareah neighborhood in the upper part of Algiers. Fishermen and navigators see it from the sea and are guided by it in their maritime travel.
