The Great Mosque is located in the first of November 1954 in the city of Batna on the road to Biskra, and it was inaugurated in 2003 as an Islamic monument and as an architectural construction of the city in the manner of the Islamic Maghreb architecture, which North African countries have been famous for since the Islamic conquest of it, and is considered the largest in the city of Batna. This huge Islamic edifice is a favorite destination for worshippers who come from all over the city of Batna, especially in the month of Ramadan, and Friday prayers are the holy day for Muslims.
The First of November Mosque occupies an area of more than 42,000 square meters, and its capacity reaches 30,000 worshipers.
It contains two domes each with a diameter of 24 meters and a height of 6 meters, and two tall minarets with a height of 56 meters.
The design of this architectural masterpiece is credited to the architect Tayeb Bouarour.
